On October 15th the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Harvey Jones Channel Improvement Project was held at the base of the channel. It was a beautiful fall day in New Mexico with sandhill cranes flying over the Bosque. SSCAFCA’s Chairman of the Board, Jim Fahey discussed the phases of the project and process to reach completion and Board of Directors, John Chaney, provided a brief history of the channel. The ribbon cutting location provided viewing of the completed retrofit of the channel basin. The project required a Public Interest Finding and two separate work phases on either side of the 2014 monsoon season but is finally complete.
