The Lower Montoyas Water Quality Feature is a project designed to reduce sediment and floatable debris in stormwater flows before being discharged to the Harvey Jones Channel and ultimately to the Rio Grande. This project incorporates AridLID techniques within the main stem of an arroyo, including infiltration, backwatering to off-channel areas, and addition of landscaping to provide for screening of floatable debris.
